I’m not a morning person really, although some times I try to be, so whenever I’m working at my old high school and needing to be at work at 8:30, I am not happy. Not because I don’t enjoy the work, but because I usually don’t get out of bed in time to eat and I don’t take my lunch break very often so I have headaches and it’s just not fun. My day looked like this.
Manual labour for 6 hours non stop on an empty stomach, I took breaks just to sit and not pass out.
I tried staying positive. I didn’t yell at anyone and remembering how my bank account would benefit was a good way of lightening me up, but I was still so tired and this was just the beginning of the week.
So how do I lighten up? Literally just going outside and putting things in perspective. Outside my own pain bubble there are people working harder for less money, there is also beauty and happiness and nature and Perth is beautiful.
Especially Perth at sunset. Well, anything at sunset. I am now calm and happy and my mood is lightened for my hectic week. Although things will only get worse when I transition to full time, we’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
What I learnt from Loosen Up, Lighten Up Day – Damn I complain a lot.
